How to read your results
Wiggle each stick in slow full circles: the dot should trace smoothly to the outer ring in every direction and snap back to dead center when released. A dot that rests off-center is drift in the making; a circle that flattens on one side is a worn sensor. Triggers should fill their bars smoothly from empty to full: jumps mean a dirty or failing potentiometer.
Common fixes
- Stick drift: first try the vendor's recalibration, then compressed air under the stick boot. Persistent drift is a hardware module fault: replaceable on most modern pads for a few dollars in parts, or a warranty case.
- A button needing force: membrane wear or debris. Opening and cleaning fixes most; it is usually a screwdriver job, not a replacement.
- Pad connects but nothing registers in game: the game may want a different input mode (X-input vs D-input) or another controller occupies slot one. This page reads raw input, so if it works here the pad itself is fine.
- Bluetooth lag or dropouts: test wired to separate radio problems from hardware ones; if wired is clean, the fault is interference, not the controller.
